After 20 Years, DawaNet is Losing Our Home!
DawaNet has served the community for 20 years – It’s time for all their 6 projects to find a home.
The Crisis
Over the past 19 years, DawaNet has worked hard to Engage, Educate and Empower the Muslim community and come to be recognized as a leader in creative methods of bridge-building, charity, and outreach.
But, despite our spotless 12-Year tenancy record at our current location, we’ve suddenly been asked to vacate the premises by August, in favor of a higher-paying tenant, signing a 10-Year Lease.
After much deliberation, the reality has set in that availability of suitable For Lease options are extremely limited or very expensive, making the buy option more feasible, build equity for the organization, guard against the uncertainty of eviction, and most importantly enable us to better serve the community’s needs
The Ask:
We must purchase our own building that will house the following:
-
-
Mosque
-
Foodbank
-
Community space for youth and families
-
Classrooms for weekday and weekend schools
-
Offices
-
Counseling area
-
DawaNet Center
